Salary Check FAQs

How many occupations are featured in the Salary Check?

With the latest data, WageIndicator recognises 4,000 different occupations, making the occupation search engine a fully comprehensive tool.

Are years of experience important? If so, then why?

More productive workers get higher compensation in general, and more experienced workers are more productive. This is because workers can learn how to conduct their tasks more efficiently as they gain experience. This can translate into greater income, especially in the early years of one's career. As a result, accounting for the years of experience is critical for the credibility of WageIndicator data.

How important are factors such as education?

The wage profiles in the WageIndicator dataset are influenced, among other things, by the respondents' degree of education. In general, an individual's level of education has a significant impact on his or her work. Individuals with a higher level of education may be allocated more challenging duties, more responsibility, or simply use their working time more efficiently. Wage disparities are caused by differences in educational attainment, even within the same occupation and for persons who share other qualities. As a result, accounting for schooling is critical for the accuracy of WageIndicator data.

What do Minimum and Maximum Wages mean?

The Salary Check's minimum and maximum earnings indicate how earned income vary by occupation and years of experience. The highest earned salary reported in the Salary Check for a certain occupation is the maximum wage. Salary profiles for certain jobs are generated using statistical tools.
