UK-based Zambian, Rosemary Chileshe 28, has succeeded in balancing two successful careers; one as an international model and the other as a commercial property surveyor.

She is an ambassador for various charity organisations and is also founder of the “Roc Foundation”, an organisation aimed at helping fight HIV/AIDS and poverty worldwide, with particular attention to Zambia.

Rosemary was awarded the prestigious Gathering of Africa’s Best (GAB) award for her charity work, and became the second person after Nelson Mandela to receive such recognition in southern Africa.

Recently, she announced the formation of Swanilenga Group, which will launch various projects following the lines of Rosemary’s interests and expertise, all under various subsidiaries in property, fashion, charity, media, production and entertainment.

How to get a balance?

But how does she manage to juggle such a hectic lifestyle without losing her balance?

Rosemary said,” I manage to balance all my projects by God’s grace and guidance. I am a strong believer that every individual has been blessed with various talents, which they need to be smart enough to act on. It’s important to continue striving upwards and onwards in both the good and hard times.

“I work with definitive goals and do not allow anything not on my ‘goals list’ to get me off track, no matter how exciting the subject may be in other people’s eyes.  I stay focused on what I have outlined for myself.

Having faith

“My spiritual life is very important to me. I am New Apostolic by faith. I sing soprano in the choir and teach the Sunday school children aged three to ten.” Her duties within the church have no limitations, as she also contributes to floral arrangement for the altar and helps with the preparation of church before the services commence.

“My message to all; never look at someone else’s life and wish it was your own. Take time to focus on all that you have within your life and praise God.

“We were all born to prosper! Give credit where it is due and be humbled in your surroundings, regardless of how far you have risen,” she advises.
